Do you own or know of a super Welsh Pony or Cob?
If so let us know by the 1st of February each year.

INTRODUCTION:
The Committee of Management considers the Achiever Award on an annual basis in February of each year.
There is no limit to the nominations received from each State, nor the number of awards (if any) bestowed by the Committee of Management.

  • Nominations must be received by the 1st February in each year
  • Nominations can be made by an RPG Sub-committee, a Breeder, Agricultural show, pony owner/exhibitor, or other individual.
  • The awards are presented at the National Conference AGM dinner, if not collected the awards are posted after this date.

The owner/exhibitor of the pony must be a current financial member of the WP&CS of Australia Inc and be a financial member at the time of the nomination “achieved”, unless received from or on behalf of a group such as Riding for the Disabled.
Ponies must be registered with the WP&CS of Australia Inc, Both Welsh and Part Welsh ponies are eligible of nomination.
If Agricultural show or Gymkhana results are submitted, a detailed account must be submitted. E.g. name of show or Gymkhana, Date, Number of exhibitors in class, name of judge.

QUALIFICATION:
The Achiever Award is a prestigious award in recognition of outstanding performance by a Welsh pony, considering the versatility demonstrated in their general promotion of the Welsh breed in OPEN COMPANY (led, saddle, harness etc).

NOTE: Although general agricultural show results will be considered, greater preference would be given to an exhibit that, for example:_ won at Barastoc, represented their state at an Australia wide competition of significant importance, excelled at and gained recognition for its contribution to the RDA etc.

The applicants are notified in writing of the Committee of Management (COM) decision as soon as possible after the February COM meeting.
